Terms of Service
Last updated: 11 June 2026
1. The service
Crate Source is a free music discovery tool. It surfaces public release metadata and plays recordings exclusively through official third-party embedded players (YouTube). Crate Source does not host, store, or distribute audio, and provides no means to download, extract, or record it.
2. YouTube API Services
Crate Source uses YouTube API Services. By using Crate Source you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service in addition to these terms.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to: attempt to download, rip, or extract audio from embedded players; use Crate Source to infringe any third party's rights; submit unlawful, infringing, or abusive content to the community flip gallery; or attempt to disrupt, overload, or reverse-engineer the service.
4. Sample clearance
Crate Source is a discovery tool, not a licensing service. Nothing in the service grants you any rights in any recording or composition. You are solely responsible for obtaining all necessary licenses and clearances before using any recording in your own work, commercial or otherwise.
5. Community submissions
Links submitted to the flip gallery must point to content you created and have the right to share. We may remove any submission at our discretion. Submissions expire automatically after 14 days.
6. No warranty
The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Metadata may be inaccurate; embedded content is controlled by third parties and may become unavailable at any time.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Crate Source and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.
8. Changes
We may update these terms; continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. We'll date all revisions at the top of this page.
